CHG Antiseptic Prep Swab

CHG Antiseptic Prep Swab — press-down applicator, sterile single-use CHG Prep Swab 26ml screw applicator — large surgical field

Each surgical procedure begins with a single critical step: preparing the skin. The CHG Antiseptic Prep Swab delivers the gold-standard combination of 2% Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) and 70% Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) in a sterile, ready-to-use single applicator — ensuring rapid, broad-spectrum antisepsis with residual protection that lasts.

Clinically proven to significantly outperform povidone-iodine in preventing surgical site infections (SSIs), the product is used by OR teams globally and is available in Israel through Circle Star Ltd, the authorized local distributor.

Why CHG + IPA?

Immediate Kill

70% IPA delivers rapid broad-spectrum bactericidal action within seconds of contact.

🛡️

Residual Protection

CHG binds to skin proteins and continues fighting bacteria for up to 48 hours after a single application.

📊

Clinically Superior

Multiple meta-analyses show an 11–17% reduction in SSIs versus povidone-iodine in clean-contaminated procedures.

Screw (26ml): Twist the cap to release the solution.

3

Apply & Dry

Apply with back-and-forth strokes over the treatment area. Allow to dry completely before draping.

Required Drying Time

Hairless Skin

≥ 3 minutes

Minimum before draping or use of electrocautery.

⚠ Hair-Bearing Sites

Up to 60 minutes

Allow until completely dry — whichever is longer. Do not drape or use ignition sources until fully dry.

🔥 Fire Hazard The CHG + IPA solution is flammable. Do NOT apply surgical drapes, use electrocautery, laser, or any ignition source until the prep area has fully dried. Avoid pooling of solution under drapes or in body folds.
